Hi there! My name is Shiliang "Alice" Cao, and I am currently based in Central Florida (Orlando, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, etc.), though I am an expert nomad! I have always enjoyed creating art with ink, acrylic and pretty much whatever material I could get my hands on (check out my art in the "Artwork" tab of this website). A few years ago, I picked up my first DSLR camera and immediately fell in love with the art of photography, too! I started out by just walking around town with a DSLR on hand; I met people everywhere I went, listened to their stories, and snapped a few photos to share their stories with others, if they wanted me to. I loved being able to capture these snapshots, stories, fleeting emotions, dynamic personalities, and precious moments in people's lives while creating beautiful art. Since then I've learned so much and have had various opportunities to shoot in many different settings. One of my favorite things about photography still has not changed-- getting to know people and listening to their stories. Each and every person has such an incredible and unique journey, and I love being able to capture some of the most monumental moments and well as some of the everyday moments of people's lives. For me, photography is amazing because it allows me to pause time for a split second- and all of the people, movements and personalities along with it. It allows me to capture and recreate perfect moments and memories. Street photography, weddings, portraits... I love them all. I especially love being involved in art and photography projects related to community building and working with marginalized populations!
