I was so excited when I learned that Emma and Peter's wedding would be taking place at Dartmouth College, my alma mater. We drove in the evening before to join Emma, Peter, their family and guests for one last night of pre-wedding celebrations before their Big Day. Their guests had flown in from all over the world (literally) to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with them and to help them set up for the wedding. It also happened to be Peter's mom's birthday, so they threw a surprise birthday party for her-- the night before their wedding! It was such a joy to witness Emma and Peter's love for one another and for their friends and family. From the surprise birthday celebration to their foot-washing ceremony, their willingness to serve one another and those around them really shone through. They are absolutely perfect for one another. Even though it was freezing out, I felt so warm on the inside just seeing Emma and Peter grin almost nonstop at one another in excitement before, during, and after the wedding!
